My thoughts exactly Embarassed

The other problem is I wouldnt want the "winner" getting something he doesnt need \ want, so I think with hindsight, as noone is expressing a strong preference I would allow the winner to choose from the prizes available, then second etc etc

One option we use when we are in even number is that.

One player (usually from the organizing club) misses the first game and gets a forfait of half the points of a total win (eg 4050 with the new system).
In the second and third games it will be two other players to miss the game and they are taken from the bottom of the ranks. Still they get the same points.
After the competition is done, the forfait points are converted into their average score (got in the 2 other games) but this result cannot be lower than the forfait value.

This is somewhat arbitrary,but in Italy we sometimes use it as it allows all players to have fun.

Firstly thank you to everyone that took part - I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did. Here are the overall results - I will post some more detailed stuff on a new thread

First Place - Paul Davison - Feudal English. 287pts Prize 28mm Mongol Army donated by Old Glory UK

Second Place James Irvin - Early Imperial Roman. 281 pts Prize Warlord Games Early Imperial Roman Army Starter set

Third Place Ken Natt - Scythian - 254 pts Prize KR Carrying case donated by Kaiser Rushforth

Joint Fourth & Fifth Matt Todd - Nevski Russian and Jez Todd - Swiss, both 160 points prises a box of Warlord Games Phallangites donated by Asgard Games, and a copy of Barroque (on publication) donated by Lorenzo
