Question about play sequence and melee

Post by Theo75 on Fri Dec 16, 2016 1:58 pm

I recently got hold of Lords & Servants, which seems very promising, but I’m trying to get my head around how the sequence of play works, especially with respect to melee.

The rules state that ”a melee occurs when two enemy miniatures enter into base-to-base contact” (p. 16), that the melee ”does not require extra Actions apart from that spent to move into contact” (p. 17), and that ”A Melee precludes any other actions for that miniature in that turn” (p. 17).

Let’s assume I move some figures or groups into contact during my unit’s activation. Does this mean that:

A) Each melee is resolved immediately during the activations? (That is, I move group 1 into contact, resolve that melee, then move figure 2 into contact with another enemy and resolve that, and so on)

B) I finish all movements and other actions first, _then_ resolve all melees?

If A is the correct answer, what about figures who start their turn in melee? When do they fight?

Thanks in advance,
